The best photos from Strade Bianche men’s 2025
Having built a cult status in recent years, the 2025 edition of Strade Bianche delivered another star-studded battle on the white roads of Tuscany.
As expected, Tadej Pogačar attacked from far out. Uncharacteristically though, he was tracked by 2023 Strade Bianche winner Tom Pidcock, who was giving the Slovenian a good run for his money. After a heavy tumble, Pogačar fought back with his rainbow jersey ripped, only to attack away from Pidcock within the final 20km of the race.
Riding solo into Siena for the third time in his career, the UAE Team Emirates XRG star became the first man to win Strade Bianche in the rainbow jersey. He might be the only one to win it in a blood-stained jersey too.
We sent photographer Xavier Pereyron to capture all the action from the men’s race.

The rainbow jersey leaves a young fan hanging on the way to the startline.

The peloton is rarely this calm during Strade Bianche.

The best view in the house.

UAE Team Emirates XRG unsurprisingly controlled the first half of the race with laser-like precision.

Only in Italy would soigneurs ride Vespas.

You’re going to need some binoculars, buddy.

British riders Connor Swift and Groupama-FDJ’s Lewis Askey lead the day’s breakaway over the opening gravel sectors.

Pidcock was fixed onto Pogačar’s wheel even before they made their move on the Monte Santa Marie at around 70km to go.

The Slovenian opted for the white shorts this weekend. Perhaps this was a decision he’d soon came to regret…

2019 runner-up Jakob Fuglsang tows a group of stragglers up the gravel incline.

There’s barely a metre of flat road in Strade Bianche.

After relaying at the head of the peloton for much of the day, Austrian Felix Großschartner found himself in the grupetto once Pogačar went on the offensive.

It wouldn’t be Strade Bianche without a little bit of rough and tumble.

After waiting for the wounded world champion, Pidcock was confident enough to put pressure on Pogačar once he refound his wheel.

Between them, Pogačar and Pidcock have won every edition of Strade Bianche since 2022.

After a valiant effort at the head of the race, Connor Swift was spat out the back of the Pogačar-driven lead group.

2022 Gravel World Champion Gianni Vermeersch was Alpecin-Deceuninck’s best placed rider on the day.

Danes Anders Foldager and Albert Philipsen roll up one of the countless climbs. Philipsen became the youngest rider to ever finish Strade Bianche.

It was a day to forget for Visma-Lease a Bike. Their Classics curse continues.

There’s no rainbow jersey curse for Tadej Pogačar, however. He takes his fourth win of 2025 and becomes the second rider to win Strade Bianche on three occasions.

Ben Healy fought hard in the chase to finish in fourth place – the highest finish ever achieved by an Irish rider at the race.

Decathlon-AG2R’s Jordan Labrosse broke the top 20 on Saturday, making him the highest ranked Frenchman on the day.

Tudor’s Fabian Weiss had a big day out in the breakaway. The Swiss rider eventually came home in 32nd.

QuickStep’s 22-year-old Gianmarco Garofoli was battered and bruised by the time he arrived into Siena. Despite his blood-coated hand, he finished in 45th place.

It’s UCI points galore for UAE Team Emirates and Q36.5. The Swiss squad is rumoured to be getting a wild card for the Giro d’Italia. Pidcock’s ride might’ve sealed the deal.

One of the most strange-looking bike race trophies out there.

‘Excuse me sir, can I see your ID?’
