Maap’s new Aeon kit is made for longer rides
The Maap Aeon clothing range, launched today, includes three new pieces: bib shorts, a long sleeve jersey and a short sleeve jersey. All three incorporate advanced technical features designed for endurance rides in warmer weather.
The Aeon collection is available in men’s sizes from XS to XXL and women’s from XXS to XL. The Aeon bib shorts are priced at £240, the long sleeve jersey at £190 and the short sleeve jersey at £170.
Road bib shorts with Maap’s gravel seat pad
Maap has incorporated its custom 3D Thermo Moulded seat pad from its Alt_Road gravel/all-road shorts in the Aeon bib shorts.
It’s the first time the brand has used its gravel seat pad in shorts designed for road use. The foam used in the pad is denser than that which Maap generally uses in its road-going shorts. Maap says it’s chosen to use the pad to increase shock absorption and long-distance support for the rider.
Maap claims that the Spanish-made fabric used in the shorts is ultra-soft and has a buttery-smooth touch, as well as providing four-way compression and abrasion resistance.
The legs have raw hems, with silicone threads sewn into the fabric to provide the leg grippers, while there’s just one seam in the legs that’s flatlocked to avoid discomfort.
UK price for the Aeon bib shorts is £240, while the US price is $315 and in Europe it’s €265.
Patented jersey fabric
The Maap Aeon jerseys are made of Polartec’s patented Delta fabric. This is woven from a mix of hydrophobic and hydrophilic yarns which is designed to enhance evaporative cooling. The 3D fabric structure is claimed to lift the fabric away from the skin to improve airflow, while the mix of yarns helps to spread moisture over the fabric surface and improve evaporative cooling.
There’s a semi-bonded collar that’s low cut to avoid irritation on longer rides and a wide, seamless lower hem, again improving ride comfort. Maap says that the cut and fabrics, although form-fitting, are less compressive than its race jerseys. There are three block colours on offer: black, white and blue.

Maap prices the short sleeve Aeon jersey at £170 / $230 / €185 and the long sleeve at £190 / $260 / €210.
