Tour of Britain Women 2025: Route, how to watch and everything you need to know
The UK’s biggest stage race for the women’s peloton returns from Thursday 5th June to Sunday 8th June. The Tour of Britain Women will take the crème de la crème of the women’s sport on a four-day long trail around Yorkshire, England and into Scotland. The race was halted in 2023 due to financial constraints and returned in 2024 under British Cycling’s organisation with a new moniker and a new identity.
In 2024, Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) won the first two stages and claimed the overall by 17 seconds over Anna Henderson (Great Britain) and 34 seconds over Christine Majerus (SD Worx-Protime). Kopecky also won the mountains classification. The start list for 2025 will be revealed in due course.

Tour of Britain Women 2025: Route and stage-by-stage preview

This year’s Tour of Britain Women route will once again feature a total of four stages, with two apiece in England and Scotland. Dalby Forest in Yorkshire hosts the Grand Départ, with the opening stage finishing in Redcar. Stage 2 will unfold in the Tees Valley, finishing in Hartlepool. It’s then across the border to Kelso and Glasgow. The final stage also comprises part of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Family Cycling Festival, and once the race has finished fans will be able to ride the same closed road and traffic-free circuit.
Stage 1: Dalby Forest – Redcar, 81.5km

It’s a short opening affair for Stage 1 of the Tour of Britain Women. After departing Dalby Forest, the peloton heads through the North York Moors National Park where they encounter the first two Queen of the Mountain points in Blakey Ridge (6km, 4%) and Langburn’s Bank (2km, 5%).
The first sprint point hits in the final third of the day at Newton-Under-Roseberry before it’s full speed to Redcar, where Stage 2 of the men’s Tour of Britain finished last year.
Stage 2: Hartlepool – Saltburn-by-the-Sea, 144.3km

Stage 2 skirts around Middlesbrough before completing two laps of a finishing circuit that includes two ascents of Marske Lane (1.5km, 4.5%). The uphill kick to the finish in Saltburn-by-the-Sea comprises the small yet mighty Saltburn Bank (300m, 15%), which has twice hosted the finish of the National Road Race Championships and also featured in the 2024 men’s Tour of Britain. If she’s here, keep an eye out for Pfeiffer Georgi who went back-to-back on Saltburn Bank for her national titles in 2023 and 2024.
Stage 3: Kelso – Kelso, 143.8km

The riders will need to spend some time memorising the roadbook for what is quite a complex route on Stage 3. The peloton will first head around the outside of this route and take in Scott’s View (2.5km, 2.5%), Dingleton (2.5km, 6%) and Dunion Hill (3km, 5.4%). When they return to the start location, the field will then cut left and head towards another ascent of Scott’s View and Dingleton on a shorter circuit. The latter will be the last climb of the race, so the mountains jersey should be hotly contested this day.
Stage 4: Glasgow – Glasgow, 84km

The final stage of the 2024 edition is one for the fast women as they’re unleashed on a 8.4km Glasgow city circuit next to the River Clyde. They’ll cover 10 laps of this circuit with three dubbed ‘sprint laps’ with points up for grabs across the line for those riders still in the hunt in the points classification.
