The UAE Tour Women is the second stage race on the WorldTour calendar following the Tour Down Under, taking place in the United Arab Emirates from Thursday 8th-Sunday 11th February 2024.
Last year’s inaugural edition was won by Lidl-Trek’s Elisa Longo Borghini just ahead of teammate Gaia Realini, the duo putting in a strong performance to finish 1-2 on the third stage to Jebel Hafeet. UAE Team ADQ’s Silvia Persico completed the overall podium in third. DSM-Firmenich’s Charlotte Kool bookended the race with two victories on the flat stages, but will not be on the start line this year due to illness.

UAE Tour Women 2024: The route
The UAE Tour Women 2024 has a similar parcours to last year. Two flatter stages for the sprinters or an ambitious breakaway precede a day for the climbers on Stage 3 to Jebel Hafeet, closing out with another flatter sprint stage for the final day.
Stage 1, Thursday 8th February: Dubai – Dubai, 122km

The UAE Tour Women 2024 begins with a pan flat stage around Dubai. The peloton heads out towards a sprint point at Flamingo Lake before turning back on themselves and riding to the finish line at Dubai Harbour.
Stage 2, Friday 9th February: Al Mirfa – Madinat Zayed, 113km

Another flat day awaits the peloton from Al Mirfa to Madinat Zayed, crossing over 60km of desert. The final 10km are on a wide, straight road.
Stage 3, Saturday 10th February: Al Ain – Jebel Hafeet, 128km

Ah, some elevation. The final climb of Jebel Hafeet stands at 10.8km in length and peaks with a maximum gradient of 11% coming 3km from the finish.
Stage 4, Sunday 11th February: Abu Dhabi – Abu Dhabi, 105km

Back to the flat. The final stage of the UAE Tour Women 2024 heads in the direction of the Yas Marina Circuit for an intermediate sprint, a place that also hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix if you’re into Formula 1.
From there, riders will race towards the Sorbonne University before finishing at Abu Dhabi Breakwater where the race’s victor will be crowned.
UAE Tour Women 2024: How to watch
We’re still mourning the loss of GCN+, but the UAE Tour Women 2024 will be available to watch in the UK on Discovery+ for £6.99 per month with the basic package, which includes cycling and all other Eurosport programmes. It will also be shown on the TV channel Eurosport 2 in the UK.
If it’s not being shown in your country, you may be able to watch coverage using a VPN – Virtual Private Network – which allows users to mask their IP address and watch geo-blocked content, provided they don’t need to pay for a subscription. This is also helpful for watching paid-for coverage while travelling abroad in countries without access.
One such example is ExpressVPN, which is very well reviewed, helps users to find way to watch cycling without having to pay for broadcasters services, and costs £5.36 per month, with three months free.
