Lincoln GP gallery: Photos from Britain’s Tour of Flanders
The best bike race in Britain returned this weekend as the Lincoln GP took over the city for its annual assault on the steep cobbled climb of Michaelgate.
The women’s race was won by LifePlus-Wahoo’s Kate Richardson, who held off a trio of Hope-Shibden-Apex’s young riders to take home her cobble trophy, with soon-to-be Movistar rider Cat Ferguson in second and Imogen Wolff in third.
Once they got their breath back, it was former WorldTour rider Matthew Holmes who ended Saint Piran’s reign of dominance having come out of retirement over the winter. He was closely followed by Team Skyline’s Adam Lewis and XSpeed United Continental’s Matthew King.
We sent photographer James York into the thick of it to capture the action, in case you missed Monument Cycling‘s coverage.
