Cycling autumn Classics 2024: Canadian and Italian race dates, details and live TV guide
Grand Tour season is almost over, and that means only one thing: it’s time to get excited about the autumn Classics! Okay it’s not as exciting as the spring Classics but the late season one-day races come thick and fast after the Vuelta a España and include the final Monument of the season, Il Lombardia.
For many, the Race of the Falling Leaves doesn’t come close to the excitement of the Hell of the North and co. but it’s still high level, entertaining and important racing.
Below we’ve put together a rundown of the ones to watch with the key details and we’ll update it with more info as it comes in.
What actually are the autumn Classics?

While the spring Classics are an easily defined set of early season races including cobbles and gravel, which include most of the Monuments, the autumn Classics are a bit of a hodge-podge of late-season one-day races.
The headline act is the set of Italian Classics that lead up to and include Il Lombardia, though the two Canadian races have been popular with fans and riders since they entered the fray.
For the purposes of this guide, we’re also going to include the sprinkling of one-day races in Belgium, France, Germany and Japan as well as the European and World Championships road races, because they fit the bill.
