The best photos from the Tour of Britain 2024
The rejuvenated Tour of Britain took over last week for a thrilling first edition organised by British Cycling, with big names, small names and drama from start to finish.
We sent photographer James York into the thick of the action to capture lands green and pleasant and riders happy and glorious. Here are our favourite photos of his selection.

What are they growing here? If you know comment at the bottom of this article.

Soudal-QuickStep’s Paul Magnier will certainly be coming back to this race.

You don’t get high streets like these at the Tour de France.

No gold bar tape? Shocking display.

Jake Stewart was enjoying himself.

Great advert for Yung’s Chop Suey House.

Funnily enough ‘save money, give back’ is actually Ineos’s transfer policy.

Fourth wall broken, add your best captions in the comments below.

Derbados basking in the sunshine.

Obligatory church shot.

The unmistakable backdrop of Newark. You don’t get scaffolding like that at the Giro. And great teeth from the sprinters to top it off.

‘What do you mean Newark has two train stations?’

This could be a Grand Tour.

This could be a Grand Tour stage winner.

Good to see Dadley Wiggins out and about.

Seaside finish won by a Slovenian? This might be the Tour after all.

A big Stevie W. What a year for the Welshman.

GOAT.
