Pro bike: Remco Evenepoel’s gold Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8 from the World Championships
While the double-double of Olympic and Worlds time-trial and road race glory wasn’t to be, Remco Evenepoel has had an incredible 2024 and helped light up the World Championships road race on Sunday.
The Olympic champion was racing in the all-gold get-up he’ll be showing off for the next four years at least, the headline act being his almost completely Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8. It’s very sponsor-correct and he’s running a beefy 56t outer ring.
The pressure is now on for Specialized, Shimano, Roval and Supacaz to add gold saddle, groupset (all parts required please), wheels, bar and stem and bar tape. Still, he’s firmly in the top echelon of the best gold bikes.
