How to watch the Tour de France 2025
It’s back. The 2025 Tour de France begins on Saturday 5th July in Lille. Defending champion Tadej Pogačar will line up alongside two-time winner Jonas Vingegaard in the fierce fight for the yellow jersey this July. They will be joined by Primož Roglič and Remco Evenepoel in what is a stacked field of title contenders, sprinters and cycling superstars.
The 2025 Tour opens with a week dedicated to the puncheurs and sprinters in northern France, starting with a rare chance for the fastmen to claim the maillot jaune on day one. After skirting across the top half of the country, the race moves into the Pyrenees after a rest day. There, the GC riders will emerge from their caves and take on a trio of summit finishes before transitioning across to France’s eastern flank.
Mont Ventoux opens the final week of racing, before two further iconic summit finishes to the Col de la Loze and La Plagne. The final weekend might not be quite so consequential for the GC this year, but it offers two rolling profiles, including a revised approach to the Champs-Elysées via the cobbled Butte Montmartre.
How to watch and live stream the Tour de France 2025

This year, live coverage of the 2025 Tour de France in the UK is on ITV4, Discovery+ and TNT Sports.
On TVs ITV4 is the English-language channel of choice for the Tour de France, and will be available on all UK television packages. Welsh language coverage is also broadcast on free-to-air channel S4C throughout the UK. There is also free-to-air Irish language coverage on TG4. For those with a subscription, the usual coverage will be on TNT Sports too.
The other option is streaming. TNT Sports’ coverage is streamed via Discovery+/Max, which offers uninterrupted live coverage, including pre-stage panel show ‘The Breakaway’, hosted by Orla Chennaoui. Free-to-air streaming can be found on mobile and online through the ITVX app in the UK and TG4’s app in Ireland.
In the United States, the racing will be broadcast on NBC Sports and its streaming service Peacock. Australia offers coverage via SBS Sports, and FloBikes holds the broadcast rights for English-speaking Canada.
If the race isn’t being broadcast in your country or you are travelling abroad, a VPN will allow you to hide your device’s location to access content that is normally geo-blocked. One such VPN provider is ExpressVPN, which is well reviewed, helps users to find free-to-watch cycling, and costs start from around £5 per month.
